Deonchental Gilbert is a wife and mother. She has been in the Mississippi area now for 26 years and have made a name for herself in the childcare industry. With over 25 years of management experience and 15yrs of childcare experience. Ms. Gilbert holds a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and is a PDS Specialist for the Council of Professional Recognition. Childcare has always been a passion of mine ever since my children were babies. I struggled to find good quality childcare for my children while I was in the workforce. Upon opening my center I vowed to provide a high quality, loving and educational based environment for the children and families we serve. The centers name was developed with this in mind. We don’t just serve “your kids” because they are “Our Kids”.
As childcare providers, our goal is to provide a safe and happy place where children can learn and grow spiritually, physically, emotionally, intellectually and socially at their own pace.
We give the children in our care opportunities to learn in a family-like setting, where they can feel safe and loved, and can begin to build a positive self-image. Your child will receive quality personal and individualized care in a warm and loving facility. Your child will have the opportunity to gain practice in language development, math readiness, creative play, social skills, music, fine motor, large motor and self-help skills.
We understand the needs of parents, and try to provide a child care situation that we would want our own children to be a part of. The safety and security of your children is our top priority.

Our Kids Christian Academy offers a values-based early childhood education curriculum. Our goal is to help children grow to become independent, creative, respectful and God-loving individuals. We want them to mirror the values that are upheld by YOU – their parents. In a way, we act as a supplement to your parenting by giving your child experiences and opportunities wherein they can practice problem solving skills by applying the same values that you encourage in your own household. Our learning center also focuses on intellectual, mental and physical development. We believe in experiential learning where we facilitate activities for children to participate in. Our faculty of experienced educators will be there to guide your child in applying the skills they learned. Our Kids Christian Academy will do the best to prepare your child for higher school age challenges emotionally, mentally and spiritually.
